I still have unpaid bills. Do I pay these bills out of the tiny amount I was given or try to get my own insurance company to pay more? I didn’t hire a lawyer because I was really rattled. I regret that now. But regardless, do I try to get my company to pay the rest or do I pay it out of my small settlement (which would just barely cover the bills).

I am assuming you are talking about medical bills.
Copies of the bills should have been sent to the carrier for them to take into consideration. If they were, then yes, you are to pay the bills with what you received in the settlement.
You can try to get your company to pay them, if you have medical coverage, however it is against the law to collect from both companies. This is called Douple Dipping and it is FRAUD.
Best of luck to you.

while the prior answer is correct, some states do allow for you to collect from both. In Texas for instance if you carry PIP you can legally claim from both.
I would check with your insurnace adjuster to see if this allowed in your state. However if it is not and you do, then yes, this would be fraud and they will find out.
Check with your adjuster.
